SAGA Driving
Traffic Safety Research Council of Iceland (RANNUM)
The project was carried out between 2001 and 2004.
The aim of this project was to find out if enhanced supervision was actually providing enhanced traffic safety.
The work entailed interviewing over 40 companies in Iceland that had been using SAGAsystem™ over the period of 2-4 years.
This project involved statistical analysis of variables covering social, economical and ecological benefits and impact it has on drivers and supervisors.
The results included significant increase in fuel efficiency, reduced CO2 emission and improved traffic safety measured by reduction in accident rates.
Of all the drivers interviewed, a total of 85% were found to improve their driving behaviour.
