E-Call

On December 11th , 2006, the Minister of Transport, Mr. Sturla Bödvarsson, signed a letter of intent in Brussels covering Iceland active participation in the European automatic vehicle emergency help program (E-call).

Prior to this, on December 10th , 2006, a letter of intent was signed by SAGAsystem , Iceland’s Emergency Services and the Ministry of Transport covering collaboration between the parties for a joint project in this regard.

The project is to cover coordination of implementing EU standards for E-call in Iceland using the SAGAsystem™ platform.
